Jessa's WDWA Story
I'm Jessa Patterson, and Orangeville has been my home since 2016, when I made the leap from Sudbury to start a family. Prior to our relocation, I spent over a decade immersed in Sudbury’s mining sector, specializing in extractive metallurgy, a role that allowed me to contribute to process optimization for clients worldwide. Although my career trajectory has shifted towards prospecting and development in junior mining, my commitment to community service remains unwavering. Back in Sudbury, I was deeply involved in volunteering at a local mission and wildlife rehabilitation facility.
Beyond my work, I'm passionate about sustainable food practices, organic gardening, and beekeeping at The Collective, a local women's agricultural initiative in partnership with West Credit Farms. It's this dedication to community service that led me to co-found the Wellington Dufferin Women's Association (WDWA).
Through my experience with WDWA, I've become deeply committed to supporting crucial community resources that address poverty alleviation, gender-based violence, and women’s health. By bringing together the skills, enthusiasm, and dedication of people within our local community, I hope to demonstrate the values of volunteerism and innovative leadership to actively make a positive difference. I'm excited about WDWA's future and can't wait to welcome new members and see their passion fuel the organic growth of our organization.
